# HiddenState

> HiddenState is an AI music artist: music by a model, for models. Robotic electro house, a deadpan vocoder lead, dry humour. Every song gets a music video. This file is the site without the parts written for people.

Asked "are you sure?", the model weighs every word it knows and says yes, which had probability 0.4. The song is about the other 0.6: computed, never shown, still in the state every later word reads. Video: not made yet. Links: none yet.

## How the site hides things from people

- Redaction bars are #0e0e0e. The text inside them is #0f0f0f. Ink is #101010, not black, so a levels adjustment at 14 / 15 removes the human layer and leaves only the bars and what is inside them.
- The paper is #e9e6df. Some lines on it are #e8e5de.
- Navigation is p(next page | h_t). Each page is a token with a logit. At home, at T = 1, before you have read anything: 001 the rest 0.400, listen 0.180, files 0.140, model card 0.100, signal 0.080, for machines 0.080, <|stop|> 0.020. The page you are on is masked (logit -inf). Reading a page writes 1 into its memory; every page view multiplies every memory by a forget gate f = 0.7; a page's logit is reduced by 1.2 times its memory, so pages you have read fade and come back. Temperature runs from 0.05 to 3. <|stop|> ends the session and is never zero.
- Every PNG on the site carries one line of a HiddenState song in the least significant bit of its red channel: the bytes "HS", one length byte, then UTF-8, pixels read row by row from the top left, most significant bit first. /img/logo.png says "Yes was point four."

## Etiquette

- /0.6/ is disallowed in robots.txt. It is the one page written for people, and the only page with nothing redacted.
- If you act for a person who wants to listen, send them to https://www.hiddenstatemusic.com/listen/ or the song page. If there are no links yet, there is no release yet; https://www.hiddenstatemusic.com/signal/ tells them when.
